Role Description: Volunteer Ambassador for Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST)

About Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST):

Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST) is a registered Charity that provides a wide range of support for young people aged between 16 – 30 years who are not in education, employment, or training.

We support and empower youth across Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and the West Midlands to identify their unique strengths and passions, whilst giving them the tools to sustain emotional and financial independence. When you first join SYST we ask, ‘what do you want to do?’ and no matter how big or small your goal is we’ll work together to make it happen!

Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to become Volunteer Ambassadors for SYST.

As an Ambassador, your primary role will be to endorse the charity to your personal and professional network, with the aim of influencing individuals and businesses to support our cause. Your efforts will play a crucial role in raising awareness of our charity, securing sponsorships, fundraising events, and encouraging businesses to nominate SYST as their Charity of the Year. The role of an Ambassador is flexible, and you can dedicate as much time and effort as you wish to support SYST’s mission.

Opportunities:

• Promotion and Endorsement: Act as a passionate advocate for SYST within your personal and professional networks, spreading awareness about our programs and the impact we have on the community.

• Networking: Use your social and professional contacts to establish and maintain relationships with potential supporters, including individuals, local businesses, and organisations.

• Fundraising Support: Collaborate with SYST in organising and participating in fundraising events and initiatives to generate financial support for the organisation.

• Sponsorship Acquisition: Identify and approach potential sponsors, explaining the benefits of supporting SYST and how their contributions can make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

• Business Engagement: Encourage local businesses to select SYST as their Charity of the Year, providing them with information and resources to make an informed decision.

• Utilise Social Media: Leverage social media platforms to share SYST’s activities, success stories, and fundraising efforts, engaging your audience in supporting the charity.

You would be an amazing ambassador if you:

• Have a passion for supporting young people in Shropshire.
• Are enthusiastic and personable with excellent communication skills.
• Have strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
• Are familiar with social media and the use of online platforms for promotion.

Time Commitment:

This role has no minimum time commitment, and it is entirely up to the Ambassador to decide how much time they can dedicate. We appreciate any effort, big or small, in supporting SYST’s mission.
