Richard is a chartered engineer by trade, having worked in the industry for many years holding senior posts with GKN including Managing Director.

He is semi-retired working as a trustee of several charities including the PDSA, Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, The Ironbridge Youth Trust and the Shrewsbury Drapers.
