Michael has been involved in the financial sector since the 1950s, financing small companies.

Holding the position of CEO of a private equity firm until his retirement, he has held a number of non-executive chairmanships and directorships of public and private companies in the UK, and the role of a Senior Business Advisor to Fleming Family and Partners from 2001.

Michael was involved in helping with incubation and the launch of the Foundation of Entrepreneurial Management at the London Business School, where he is an Honorary Fellow, and also UK Business Incubation (UKBI).  Through Michael’s interest in supporting small businesses, the Shropshire Youth Support (SYST) was established in 2015 to help young people based in Shropshire.
