Telford & Wrekin Council
Telford & Wrekin Council is the local authority for the Telford and Wrekin borough in Shropshire.
It is an award winning co-operative council and its approach is informed by the views and voices of local residents, communities and partners.
In July 2019, the Council adopted a new vision for the organisation to “protect, care and invest to create a better borough” together with a series of commitments to deliver that vision.
These built on a strong track record of delivering investment to make the borough a better place to live, including:
- Improving educational attainment
- Attracting and securing jobs
- Ensuring that every resident has a decent place to live
- Investing £50m in roads and streets
As part of the council’s commitment to improving educational attainment, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Job Box service is dedicated to helping young people and people of all ages to secure employment and explore training and workplace opportunities.
Job Box includes services such as the Telford Youth hub, which offers free support and advice to help young people to get their career on track, and Job Match – a free service which connects local people who are looking for work with local businesses who are recruiting.
There is also a Life Ready Work Ready service which aims to bridge the gap between schools and employers and provide a variety of work experience and placement opportunities.
